ِŲْ ØąَبِّŲ ۖ ŲَØĨِذَا ØŦَØ§ØĄَ ŲَØšْدُ ØąَبِّŲ ØŦَØšَŲَŲُ دَŲَّØ§ØĄَ ۖ ŲَŲَاŲَ ŲَØšْدُ ØąَبِّŲ ØَŲًّا
āϤেāĻঁ āĻ’āϞে, ‘āĻāĻāĻো āĻŽোā§° āĻĒ্ā§°āϤিāĻĒাāϞāĻā§° āĻ
āύুāĻ্ā§°āĻš। āĻিāύ্āϤু āϝেāϤিā§া āĻŽোā§° āĻĒ্ā§°āϤিāĻĒাāϞāĻā§° āĻĒ্ā§°āϤিāĻļ্ā§°ুāϤ āϏāĻŽā§ āĻāĻšিāĻŦ āϤেāϤিā§া āϤেāĻঁ āĻā§াāĻ āĻূā§°্āĻŖ-āĻŦিāĻূā§°্āĻŖ āĻā§°ি āĻĻিāĻŦ, āĻā§°ু āĻŽোā§° āĻĒ্ā§°āϤিāĻĒাāϞāĻā§° āĻĒ্ā§°āϤিāĻļ্ā§°ুāϤি āϏāϤ্āϝ’।

đVerse/Note:
18:98 Said [the King]: "This is a mercy from my Sustainer! Yet when the time appointed by my Sustainer* shall come, He will make this [rampart] level with the ground: and my Sustainer's promise always comes true!"**

The mention, in verses 99-101 of this surah, of "the Day" - i.e., the Day of Judgment - in connection with "Gog and Magog" shows that "the time appointed by my Sustainer" relates to the coming of the Last Hou, when all works of man will be destroyed. But since none of the Qur'anic references to the "approach" or the "nearness" of the Last Hour has anything to do with the human concept of time, it is possible to accept the above interpretations as equally valid in the sense that the "coming of the Last Hour" comprises an indefinite - and, in human terms, perhaps even immensely long- span of time, and that the break-through of the godless forces of "Gog and Magog" was to be one of the signs of its approach. And, finally, it is most logical to assume (especially on the basis of 21:96) that the terms Yajuj and Majuj are purely allegorical, applying not to any specific tribes or beings but to a series of social catastrophes which would cause a complete destruction of man's civilization before the coming of the Last Hour(as).

WORD BY WORD MEANING:
[18:96] "Give me (Aatuunii) pieces (Zubara) of iron (El'Hadiidi)," until (Hattaa) when (Izaa) he had levelled
(Saawaa) between (Bai'na) the two dams (Es'Sadafai'ni), he said (Qaala), "Inflate (Enfukhu')," until (Hattaa)
when (Izaa) he had rendered it (JaÃĨla-hu) into fire (Naaran), he said (Qaala), "Give me (Aatuunii) tar
(Qit'ran) to pour on top of it (Uf'rig' Ã
lai'hi)."
[18:97] So (Fa) they (Gog & Magog) were not (Maa) able (Es'toa'uu) to (An) climb it (Yaz'haruu-hu), nor (Wamaa)
were they able to (Es'tatoa'u') drill (Naq'baa) through it (Lahu).
[18:98] He (of the two horns)
said (Qaala), "This (Haaza) is a mercy (Rah'matun) from (Min) my LORD (Rabbii); but
(Fa) when (Izaa) the promise (Wa'du) of my LORD (Rabbii) comes (Jaa'a), HE will render it (JaÃĨla-hu) a level ground (Dakkaa'a), and (Wa) the promise (Wa'du) of my LORD (Rabbii) is true (Haqqaa)."
[18:99] And (Wa) We will leave (Tarak'naa) some of them (Ba'do-hum') on that day (Yaw'maizin) surging
(Yamuuju) against (Fii) others (Ba'din), and (Wa) the horn (Es'Suuri) will be blown (Nufikha Fii), then (Fa)
We will gather them (Jama'naa-hum) all (Jam'ÃĨÃĨ).
[18:100] And (Wa) We will expose (Ã
rad'naa) Hell (Jahannama) on that day (Yaw'ma'izin), as an exhibition
(Ã
r'doa) for the disbelievers (Lil' Kaafiriina),
[18:101] the ones (Ellaziina) whose eyes (A'yunu-hum') had been (Kaanat') in (Fii) a covering (Gitoa'in)
away from (Ã
n) MY remembrance (Zik'rii), and (Wa) they were (Kaanu') not (Laa) able to (Yas'tatii'uuna)
listen (Sam'ÃĨÃĨ).
