🟢১২:৫০(The King investigates what happened between the Wife of the Aziz, the Women in the City, and Yusuf).

وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ائْتُونِي بِهِ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ الرَّسُولُ قَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَاسْأَلْهُ مَا بَالُ النِّسْوَةِ اللَّاتِي قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي بِكَيْدِهِنَّ عَلِيمٌ

আৰু ৰজাই ক’লে, ‘তোমালোকে ইউছুফক মোৰ ওচৰলৈ লৈ আহা’। তাৰ পিছত যেতিয়া (ৰজাৰ) দূত তেওঁৰ ওচৰত উপস্থিত হ’ল তেতিয়া তেওঁ ক’লে, ‘তুমি তোমাৰ মনিবৰ ওচৰত উভতি যোৱা আৰু তেওঁক সোধাগৈ, যি নাৰীসকলে নিজৰে হাত কাটি(*) পেলাইছিল সিহঁতৰ অৱস্থা কি! নিশ্চয় মোৰ প্ৰতিপালক সিহঁতৰ ছলনা সম্পৰ্কে সম্যক অৱগত’।

(*“Cutting hands” = Exhausting efforts. Joseph asked for investigation before being released to vindicate his character-sa).

[12:50] And (Wa) the king (El'Maliku) said (Qaala), "Bring him to me (E'tuunii Bi-hi)." But (Fa) when 

(Lammaa) the messenger (Er'Rasuulu) came to him (Jaa'a-hu), he (Joseph) said (Qaala), "Go back (Er'ji') to your 

master (Rabbi-ka), and ask him (Fas'al'hu), "What (Maa) was the situation (Baalu) of the women 

(En'Nis'wati) who slit (Qatta'na) their hands(*12:31

(Ai'diya-hunna)? Indeed (Inna), my LORD (Rabbii) is aware 

of (Åliim Bi) their scheme (Kai'di-hinna)."

فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتْ بِمَكْرِهِنَّ أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَعْتَدَتْ لَهُنَّ مُتَّكَأً وَآتَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ سِكِّينًا وَقَالَتِ اخْرُجْ عَلَيْهِنَّ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَهُ أَكْبَرْنَهُ وَقَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ وَقُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلَّهِ مَا هَٰذَا بَشَرًا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ

এতেকে যেতিয়া মহিলাজনীয়ে সিহঁতৰ ষড়যন্ত্ৰৰ কথা শুনিলে, তেতিয়া সিহঁতক মাতি পঠিয়ালে আৰু সিহঁতৰ বাবে আসন প্ৰস্তুত কৰিলে। সিহঁত সকলোকে এখনকৈ ছুৰি (সৰু কটাৰী) প্ৰদান কৰিলে আৰু ইউছফক ক’লে, ‘সিহঁতৰ সন্মুখত ওলাই আহা’। ফলত সিহঁতে যেতিয়া তেওঁক দেখিলে তেতিয়া সিহঁতে তেওঁৰ সৌন্দৰ্যত অভিভূত হ’ল আৰু নিজৰে হাত কাটি পেলালে আৰু সিহঁতে ক’লে, ‘অদ্ভুত আল্লাহৰ মাহাত্ম্য! এওঁ মানুহ নহয়। নিশ্চয় এওঁ এজন মহিমান্বিত ফিৰিস্তা’।)

🟢১২:৫১(King's Wife Tells the Truth).

قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُنَّ إِذْ رَاوَدْتُنَّ يُوسُفَ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ ۚ قُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلَّهِ مَا عَلِمْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سُوءٍ ۚ قَالَتِ امْرَأَتُ الْعَزِيزِ الْآنَ حَصْحَصَ الْحَقُّ أَنَا رَاوَدْتُهُ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

ৰজাই নাৰীসকলক ক’লে, ‘যেতিয়া তোমালোকে ইউছুফৰ পৰা অসৎকৰ্ম কামনা কৰিছিলা, তেতিয়া তোমালোকৰ কি হৈছিল’? সিহঁতে ক’লে, ‘অদ্ভুত আল্লাহৰ মাহাত্ম্য! আমি তেওঁৰ মাজত কোনো দোষ পোৱা নাছিলো’। আজীজৰ স্ত্ৰীয়ে ক’লে, ‘এতিয়াহে সত্য প্ৰকাশ পালে, মইহে তেওঁক প্ৰৰোচনা দিছিলো, আৰু তেওঁ নিশ্চয় সত্যবাদীসকলৰ অন্তৰ্ভুক্ত’।

[12:51] He (the king) said (Qaala), "What (Maa) was your affair (Khat'bu-kunna) when (Iz') you (the women)

seduced (Raawad'ttunna) Joseph (Yuusufa) from (Ån) his soul (Naf'si-hi)?" They said (Qul'na), "A round up 

(Haasha) for GOD (Lillahi); we did not (Maa) know (Ålim'naa) any (Min) evil (Suwaa'in) about him (Ålai'hi)." The wife (Em'ra'atu) of the nobleman (Potiphar) (El'Åziizi) said (Qaalat), "Now (El'Aana) the truth (El'Haqqu) has 

appeared (Has'haso). I seduced him (Raawad'ttu-hu) from (Ån) his soul (Naf'sihi), but (Wa) indeed, he 

(Innahu) was of (Lamina) the truthful (Es'Soadiqiin).

১২:২৬

قَالَ هِيَ رَاوَدَتْنِي عَنْ نَفْسِي ۚ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا إِنْ كَانَ قَمِيصُهُ قُدَّ مِنْ قُبُلٍ فَصَدَقَتْ وَهُوَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ

ইউছুফে ক’লে, ‘এওঁহে মোক কুপ্ৰৰোচনা দিছে’। মহিলাগৰাকীৰ পৰিয়ালৰ এজন সাক্ষীয়ে সাক্ষ্য দিলে যে, ‘যদি তেওঁৰ চোলাটো সন্মুখৰ পৰা ফলা হৈছে তেন্তে মহিলাগৰাকীয়ে সত্য কথা কৈছে আৰু পুৰুষজন (ইউছুফ) মিছলীয়াসকলৰ অন্তৰ্ভুক্ত’।

🟢১২:৫২

ذَٰلِكَ لِيَعْلَمَ أَنِّي لَمْ أَخُنْهُ بِالْغَيْبِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي كَيْدَ الْخَائِنِينَ

‘এইটো এইবাবে যে, যাতে তেওঁ জানিব পাৰে, তেওঁৰ অনুপস্থিতিত মই তেওঁৰ প্ৰতি বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা কৰা নাছিলো আৰু নিশ্চয় আল্লাহে বিশ্বাসঘাতকসকলৰ ষড়যন্ত্ৰ সফল নকৰে’।

[12:52] "That (Zaalika) is so that (Li) he (Joseph) will know (Ya'lama) that I (Annii) have not (Lam') betrayed 

him (Akhun'hu) in the unseen (Bil' Gai'bi) and (Wa) that GOD (Annallaha) does not (Laa) guide (Yah'dii) the 

scheme (Kai'da) of betrayers (El'Khaa'iniin).

12:52 [When Joseph learned what had happened, he said: "I asked for] this, so that [my former master] might know that I did not betray him behind his back,(*) and that God does not bless with His guidance the artful schemes of those who betray their trust.

(*Lit., "in [his] absence" or "in secret"

৫:১৩

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ مِيثَاقَهُمْ لَعَنَّاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا قُلُوبَهُمْ قَاسِيَةً ۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ ۙ وَنَسُوا حَظًّا مِمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ ۚ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَائِنَةٍ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِنْهُمْ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاصْفَحْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

তাৰ পিছত সিহঁতে অঙ্গীকাৰ ভঙ্গ কৰাৰ কাৰণে সিহঁতক আমি অভিসম্পাত কৰিছো আৰু সিহঁতৰ হৃদয়ক কঠিন কৰি দিছো, সিহঁতে শব্দবোৰক নিজ স্থানৰ পৰা বিকৃত কৰে আৰু সিহঁতক যি উপদেশ দিয়া হৈছিল তাৰ একাংশ সিহঁতে পাহৰি গৈছে। তুমি সদায় সিহঁতৰ কিছুসংখ্যকৰ বাহিৰে অধিকাংশকেই বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা কৰা দেখিবলৈ পাবা, সেয়ে সিহঁতক ক্ষমা কৰা আৰু উপেক্ষা কৰা। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহে সৎকৰ্মপৰায়ণকাৰী সকলক ভাল পায়।raf.

৪:১৪৫

إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهُمْ نَصِيرًا

নিশ্চয় মুনাফিকসকল জাহান্নামৰ সৰ্বনিম্ন স্তৰত থাকিব আৰু সিহঁতৰ বাবে তুমি কেতিয়াও কোনো সহায়ক নাপাবা।

🟢১২:৫৩

۞ وَمَا أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِي ۚ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّي ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ

‘আৰু মই নিজকে নিৰ্দোষ বুলি কব বিচৰা নাই, কিয়নো, নিশ্চয় মানুহৰ নফচে বেয়া কামৰ নিৰ্দেশ দিয়াটোৱে স্বাভাৱিক(*), কিন্তু তাৰ বাহিৰে যাৰ প্ৰতি মোৰ প্ৰতিপালকে দয়া কৰে(**)। নিশ্চয় মোৰ প্ৰতিপালক অতি ক্ষমাশীল, পৰম দয়ালু’।

[12:53] "And (Wa) I do not (Maa) exonerate (Ubarriu) myself (Naf'sii). Indeed (Inna), the soul (12:18*)

(En'Naf'sa) does (La) incite (Ammaaratu) to (Bi) evil (Es'Suuw'i), except (illa) what (Maa) my LORD (Rabbii)

has mercy upon (Rahima). Indeed (Inna), my LORD (Rabbii) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim)."

(১২:১৮*

وَجَاءُوا عَلَىٰ قَمِيصِهِ بِدَمٍ كَذِبٍ ۚ قَالَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنْفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًا ۖ فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيلٌ ۖ وَاللَّهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ

আৰু সিহঁতে চোলাটোত মিছা তেজ লগাই আনিছিল। তেওঁ ক’লে, ‘নহয়, বৰং তোমালোকৰ কু-প্ৰবৃত্তিয়ে তোমালোকৰ বাবে এটা কাহিনী সজাই দিছে। গতিকে উত্তম ধৈৰ্যহে মই গ্ৰহণ কৰিম। তোমালোকে যি বৰ্ণনা কৰিছা সেই বিষয়ে একমাত্ৰ আল্লাহেই মোৰ সাহায্যস্থল’।)

📍Verse/Note:

12:53 And yet, I am not trying to absolve myself: for, verily, man's inner self does incite [him] to evil,(*) and saved are only they upon whom my Sustainer bestows His grace.(**) Behold, my Sustainer is much forgiving, a dispenser of grace!"

Note*

Lit., "is indeed wont to command [the doing of] evil"-i.e., is filled with impulses which often conflict with what the mind regards as a moral good. This is obviously a reference to the statement in verse 12:24💡 above - "she desired him, and he desired her; [and he would have succumbed,] had he not seen [in this temptation] an evidence of his Sustainer's truth" - as well as to Joseph's prayer in verse 12:33🔖, "unless Thou turn away their guile from me, I might yet yield to their allure". (See also 12:24). Joseph's stress on the weakness inherent in human nature is a sublime expression of humility on the part of one who himself had overcome that very weakness: for, as the sequence shows, he attributes his moral victory not to himself but solely to the grace and mercy of God.

Note**

Lit., "except those upon whom...", etc. According to most of the commentators, the pronoun ma (lit., "that which") is here synonymous with man ("he who" or "those who")(as).

(১২:২৪💡

وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِ ۖ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلَا أَنْ رَأَىٰ بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ ۚ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ

আৰু সেই মহিলাজনী তেওঁৰ প্ৰতি আসক্ত হৈছিল আৰু তেৱোঁ তাইৰ প্ৰতি আসক্ত হৈ পৰিলেহেঁতেন যদি তেওঁ তেওঁৰ প্ৰতিপালকৰ নিদৰ্শন নেদেখিলেহেঁতেন। এইদৰেই (সেয়া হৈছিল) যাতে আমি তেওঁৰ পৰা কুকৰ্ম আৰু অশ্লীলতা দূৰ কৰি দিওঁ। নিশ্চয় তেওঁ আছিল আমাৰ মুখলিচ বা বিশুদ্ধচিত্ত বান্দাসকলৰ অন্তৰ্ভুক্ত।

১২:৩৩🔖

قَالَ رَبِّ السِّجْنُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّي كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَكُنْ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ

ইউছুফে ক’লে, ‘হে মোৰ ৰব! এই নাৰীসকলে মোক যি কামৰ প্ৰতি আহ্বান কৰি আছে তাতকৈ বন্দীশাল মোৰ ওচৰত বেছি প্ৰিয়। তুমি যদি মোক সিহঁতৰ ছলনাৰ পৰা ৰক্ষা নকৰা তেন্তে মই সিহঁতৰ প্ৰতি আকৃষ্ট হৈ পৰিম আৰু অজ্ঞসকলৰ অন্তৰ্ভুক্ত হৈ যাম’।)

🟢১২:৫৪(Joseph is Appointed to a Top Position).

وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ائْتُونِي بِهِ أَسْتَخْلِصْهُ لِنَفْسِي ۖ فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَهُ قَالَ إِنَّكَ الْيَوْمَ لَدَيْنَا مَكِينٌ أَمِينٌ

ৰজাই ক’লে, ‘ইউছুফক মোৰ ওচৰলৈ লৈ আহা; মই তেওঁক মোৰ নিজৰ বাবে আপোন কৰি লম’। তাৰ পিছত ৰজাই যেতিয়া তেওঁৰ লগত কথা পাতিলে, তেতিয়া ৰজাই ক’লে, ‘নিশ্চয় আজি আপুনি আমাৰ ওচৰত মৰ্যাদাশীল, পূৰ্ণ বিশ্বস্ত’।

[12:54] And (Wa) the king (El'Muliku) said (Qaala), "Bring him (Joseph) to me (E'tuunii Bihi); I will extract him 

(As'takh'lis'hu) for (Li) myself (Naf'sii)." And (Fa) when (Lammaa) he spoke to him (Kallama-hu), he (the king)

said (Qaala), "Indeed, you (Innaka) are influential (Makiinun) and trustworthy (Amiin) with us (Ladai'naa)

today (El'Yaw'ma)."

📍 History/Bible etc comparison:

Note the Egyptian head of state of Prophet Joseph's era referred as ‘Malik’ Ruler or King and not as Pharaoh, the word that appears erroneously in the book of Genesis. The term Pharaoh came in use only for kings after 1500 BC which historians call the New Kingdom. Prophet Joseph lived around 1700 BC during the Old Kingdom, that of Amalekites. In the story of Moses, the term Pharaoh is used for the Egyptian ruler. Moses lived around 1400 BC during the New Kingdom, that of Pharaohs(sa).

🟢১২:৫৫

قَالَ اجْعَلْنِي عَلَىٰ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ ۖ إِنِّي حَفِيظٌ عَلِيمٌ

তেওঁ ক’লে, ‘মোক দেশৰ কোষাগাৰৰ দায়িত্ব অৰ্পণ কৰক। নিশ্চয় মই উত্তম ৰক্ষক, সুবিজ্ঞ’।

[12:55] He (Joseph) said (Qaala), "Appoint me (Ej'ål'nii) over (Ålaa) the treasures (Khazaa'ini) of the land 

(El'Ar'di). Indeed, I am (Innii) mindful (Hafiizun) and erudite (Åliim)."

📍Verse/Note:

12:55 Joseph replied, "Place in my charge the land resources (the treasury) of the State. I will prove to be a knowledgeable guardian."

Now that he could personally handle the oncoming drought(sa).

🟢১২:৫৬

وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَتَبَوَّأُ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ يَشَاءُ ۚ نُصِيبُ بِرَحْمَتِنَا مَنْ نَشَاءُ ۖ وَلَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

আৰু এইদৰে আমি ইউছুফক সেই দেশত প্ৰতিষ্ঠিত কৰিলো; সেই দেশত তেওঁৰ য’তে ইচ্ছা ত'তেই অৱস্থান কৰাৰ অধিকাৰ আছিল। আমি যাক ইচ্ছা তাকেই আমাৰ ৰহমত প্ৰদান কৰো; আৰু আমি মুহছিনসকলৰ পুৰস্কাৰ বিনষ্ট নকৰো।

[12:56] And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika) We firmly established (Makkanaa Li) Joseph (Yuusufa) in (Fii) the land 

(El'Ar'di) to occupy (Yatabawwau) wherever (Hai'thu) he willed (Yashaau) thereof (Min'ha). We touch 

(Nusiibu) whomever (Man) We will (Nashaau) with (Bi) Our mercy (Rah'mati-naa), and (Wa) We do not 

(Laa) waste (Nudiiu) the reward (Aj'ra) of the benevolent (El'Muh'siniin).

🟢১২:৫৭

وَلَأَجْرُ(*) الْآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ

আৰু যিসকলে ঈমান আনিছে আৰু তাক্বৱা অৱলম্বন কৰে তেওঁলোকৰ বাবে আখিৰাতৰ পুৰস্কাৰেই উত্তম।

[12:57] And (Wa) the (La) reward (Aj'ru) of the hereafter (El'Aakhirati) is better (Khai'run) for those who 

(Lillaziina) believe (Aamanu') and reverence (Yattaquun).

আৰু নিশ্চয় তেওঁৰ বাবে আছে আমাৰ ওচৰত নৈকট্যৰ মৰ্যাদা আৰু উত্তম প্ৰত্যাৱৰ্তনস্থল।
