📍Verse/Note-1
4:153 (O Prophet) People of the Scripture ask you to bring a published book from the heaven. They made a greater demand to Moses when they said, "Show us God face to face." And their psyche was such that when a bolt of lightning struck around them, they fell in fear. They had chosen to do wrong. After that, they chose the calf for worship although they had seen the Manifest truth. Yet, We pardoned them and gave Moses evident authority (for their guidance)[2:55]sa

📍Verse/Note-2
4:153 The Ahl-ul-Kit ab demand that a ready-made Book should be sent to them from above. They had made an even greater demand of Moses asking him Show us Allah visibly. They were so bold in making such
a demand but so weak that they were terrified even of the thundering noise of the earthquake (2/55, 7/155).
They deified a calf after they had received clear guidance from Allah. But even thereafter Allah was forbearing towards them and conferred unquestioned authority upon Moses(pz).

[4:157] and (Wa) their saying (Qaw'li-him'), "Indeed (Innaa), we have killed (Qatal'naa) the Messiah
(El'Masiiha), Jesus (Eesa), the son (Eb'na) of Mary (Mar'yama), the messenger of GOD (Rasuula-llahi)." While
(Wa) they did not (Maa) kill him (Qataluu-hu), nor (Wamaa) did they crucify him (Solabuu-hu); but
(Walaakin)
it was a resemblance (Shubbiha) for them (Lahum'). Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) differed
(Ekh'talafu') about it (Fiihi) are in (Lafii) doubt (Shakkin) thereof (Min'hu). They have (Lahum) no (Maa Min')
knowledge (il'min) about it (Bihi), they only (illa) follow (Ettibaa'ÃĨ) assumption (Ez'Zonni). For (Wa) they did
not (Maa) kill him (Qataluu-hu), certainly (for sure) (Yaqiina).
.
📍Verse/Note-1
4:156-157 They charged Mary with a grave calumny. They boasted that they had murdered Jesus, son of Mary, Rasool of Allah, although the fact is that they neither murdered him nor crucified him. What they took for reality was merely something which appeared to them as such.
On the other hand, those who differ from Jews (i.e. Christians) are also in doubt about the matter. Their knowledge is no more than a surmise. It is certain that they (i.e. Jews) did not murder Jesus(pz).
.
📍Verse/Note-2
4:157 And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.
Note:
Jesus, the real person, the soul, was raised in the same manner as in the death of any righteous person. Subsequently, hisenemies arrested, tortured, and crucified his living, but empty, body.
.
Jesus’ Death:
The Quran, informs us that Jesus was a human messenger of God whose sole mission was to deliver God’s message; he never possessed any power, and is now dead (4:171, 5:75, 5:117). Those who consider Jesus to be God, or Son of God, or part of a trinity are “pagans”  (5:17,  5:72,  5:73)......Read more in the link:

[4:158] In fact (Bal), GOD (Ellahu) raised him (3:55📍)(RafaÃĨ-hu) to HIM (ilai'hi). For (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Almighty (Åziizan) and Wise (Hakiimaa)
.
📍Verse/Note-1
4:158 nay, God exalted him unto Himself# - and God is indeed almighty, wise.
Note.
Cf. #3:55, where God says to Jesus, "Verily, I shall cause thee to die, and shall exalt thee unto Me." The verb rafa ahu (lit., "he raised him" or "elevated him") has always, whenever the act of raf' ("elevating") of a human being is attributed to God, the meaning of "honouring" or "exalting". Nowhere in the Qur'an is there any warrant for the popular belief that God has "taken up" Jesus bodily, in his lifetime, into heaven. The expression "God exalted him unto Himself" in the above verse denotes the elevation of Jesus to the realm of God's special grace - a blessing in which all prophets partake, as is evident from 19:57, where the verb rafa nahu ("We exalted him") is used with regard to the Prophet Idris.  The "nay" (bal) at the beginning of the sentence is meant to stress the contrast between the belief of the Jews that they had put Jesus to a shameful death on the cross and the fact of God's having "exalted him unto Himself"(sa).
.
📍Verse/Note-2
4:158 The Jews say that by crucifying him they had inflicted a degrading death upon him. Allah has raised Jesus very high in His ranks. He had power enough to protect Jesus from his enemies and He did so with
great sagacity (3/54)pz.
