📍POINTS TO BE NOTED:
1)-2:8-20(The Hypocrites-they are not Mu'miniin -see notes).
.
🖼️২:৮( The Hypocrites)
.
[2:8] And (Wa) among (Mina) the people (En'Naasi) are those who (Man) say (Yaquulu), "We believe
(Aamanna) in GOD (Billahi) and (Wa) in (Bi) the Last Day (El'Yaw'mil' Aakhiri)," but (Wa) they (Hum) are not
(Maa Bi) believers (Mu'miniin).
.
📍Note-1
Their actions that speak louder than words, contradict their claim. 4:136, 49:15.
.
The Hypocrites:-
Their actions that speak louder than words, contradict their claim. 4:136, 49:15
.
They bring forth a common argument that they are acting in good faith and in accordance with their ‘conscience’. But conscience is only the "internalized society", a mental reflection of the values prevalent in a given environment. Therefore, it can never be a substitute for Divine revelation Wahi.3:20(3:17-20), 5:79, 9:67, 24:21.
.
📍Verse/Note-2
2:8 While the Muttaqeen and K afireen accept or reject the truth openly, the Mun afiqeen pay
lip service to the truth of the Divine Code, the Law of Mukaf at and life Hereafter, without believing
in it.
.
🖼️২:৯
.
[2:9] In order to deceive (Yukhaadi'uuna) GOD (Ellaha) and (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) have believed
(Aamanuu'), but (Wa) they only (Maa illa) deceive (Yakh'dauuna) themselves (Anfusa-hum'), and (Wa) they
do not (Maa) perceive (Yash'uruun).
.
📍Verse/Note
They adopt two faced tactics towards Allah s System and delude themselves into thinking
that they are deceiving the Momineen who establish it. But if they were to reflect, they would
realise that, in fact, they deceive only themselves(pz).
.
[2:10] There is disease (Maradun) in (Fii) their hearts (Quluubi-him). So (Fa) GOD (Ellahu) has increased them
(Zaada-humu) in disease (Maradoan). They will have (Lahum) a painful (Aliim) punishment (Åzaabun)
because (Bimaa) they were (Kaanu') lying (Yak'zibuun).
.
📍Verse/Note:
2:10 (This negative attitude) is a disease in their hearts, and God (His law) increases their disease. And for them is painful suffering, for, they lie to themselves.
.
Their attitude reinforces itself according to the Law of Cause and Effect. The conflict between one’s word and action amounts to self-deception that has its own dire consequences(sa).
.
.
[2:11] And (Wa) when (Izaa) they are told (Qiila Lahum), "Do not (Laa) corrupt (Tuf'siduu') on earth (Fiil'
Ar'di)," they say (Qaaluu'), "We (Nah'nu) are only (Innama) peacemakers (reformers) (Mus'lihuun)."
.
📍Verse/Note:
11 When they are asked not to spread Fas ad (disorder) in society, they retort audaciously:
We do not spread fas ad (disorder); rather we are the Musliheen i.e. those who promote order.
Beware! they, indeed, are the mufsideen who spread disorder(pz).
.
.
[2:12] Verily (Alaa) indeed, (Innahum) they (Humu) are the corrupters (El'Muf'siduuna), but (Walaakin) they
do not (Laa) perceive (Yash'uruun).
.
📍Verse/Note:
2:12 Nay, it is they who are the disrupters. But they fail to use reason.
.
They bring forth a common argument that they are acting in good faith and in accordance with their ‘conscience’. But conscience is only the "internalized society", a mental reflection of the values prevalent in a given environment. Therefore, it can never be a substitute for Divine revelation Wahi.3:20, 5:79, 9:67, 24:21(sa).
.
.
[2:13] And (Wa) when (Izaa) they are told (Qiila Lahum), "Believe (Aaminuu') as (Kamaa) the people
(En'Naasu) have believed (Aamana)," they say (Qaaluu'), "Should we believe (Anu'minu) as (Kamaa) those
who (Man) were foolish (Es'Sufahaau)?" Verily (Alaa) indeed, (Innahum) they (Humu) are the foolish
(Es'Sufahaau), but (Walaakin) they do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).
.
📍Verse/Note:
2:13 And when it is said to them, “Acknowledge the truth as people have acknowledged”, they retort, "Shall we accept what the foolish accept?" Nay, it is they who are foolish. But they do not know
.
Imaan = Belief = Conviction = Acceptance = Acknowledgement = Embracing the truth(sa).
.
.
[2:14] And (Wa) when (Izaa) they meet (Laquu') those who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanna), they say (Qaaluu'),
"We have believed (Aamannaa)," but (Wa) when (Izaa) they retreat (Khalaw') to (ilaa) their devils
(Shayaatiini-him), they say (Qaaluu'), "Indeed, we (Innaa) are with you (Maåkum’); we (Nah'nu) were only
(Innama) mocking (Mus'tah'ziuun)."
.
📍Verse/Note:
2:14 And when they meet those who have chosen to believe, they say, “We have attained belief.” But when they go away to their shayaateen (devilish comrades), they say, "We are with you. We were only mocking.”(sa).
.
("their satans" (shayatin, pl. of shaytan). In accordance with ancient Arabic usage, this term often denotes people "who, through their insolent persistence in evildoing (tamarrud), have become like satans" (Zamakhshari): an interpretation of the above verse accepted by most of the commentators. However, the term shaytan -which is derived from the verb shatana, "he was for "became"] remote [from all that is good and true]" (Lisan al -Arab, Taj al-'Arus ) - is often used in the Qur'an to describe the "satanic" (i.e., exceedingly evil) propensities in man's own soul, and especially all impulses which run counter to truth and morality(as).
.
.
[2:15] GOD (Ellahu) mocks them (Yas'tah'ziu Bi-him’) and (Wa) extends them (Yamuddu-hum) in (Fii) their
transgression (Tug'yaani-him), straying (Ya'mahuun).
.
.
[2:16] Those (U'laaika) are the ones who (Ellaziina) have traded (Esh'tarawu') the Guidance (El'Hudaa) for
(Bi) error (Ed'Dolaalata), so (Fa) their business (Tijaaratu-hum) has not profited (Rabihat'), nor (Wamaa) have
they been (Kaanu') guided (Muh'tadiin).
.
📍Verse/Note:
2:16 They have bought straying at the expense of guidance. But their trade will go bankrupt because they have not set their caravan in the right direction.
.
Muhtadi = Guided = He who journeys in the right direction(sa).
.
.
[2:17] Their example (Mathalu-hum) is like (Ka) the example (Mathali) of the one who (Ellazii) ignited
(Es'taw'qada) a fire (Naaran), but (Fa) when (Lamma) it illuminated (Adoa’at') what (Maa) was around it
(Haw'la-hu), GOD (Ellahu) took away (Zahaba Bi) their light (Nuuri-him) and (Wa) left them (Taraka-hum)
in (Fii) darknesses (Zulumaatin), they could not (Laa) see (Yub'siruun);
.
📍Verse/Note:
2:17 Their example is that of a person who lights up a fire without adequate fuel. As soon as brightness surrounds them, the fuel is consumed and God (His law) takes away their light leaving them in the dark where they cannot see.
.
The pursuit of instant gains only grants them a fleeting sense of satisfaction since they have forfeited the long-term goal(sa).
.
.
[2:18] deaf (Summun), dumb (Buk'mun) and blind (Um'yun); so (Fa) they (Hum) do not (Laa) revert (Yar'jiuun).
.
2:18 Deaf, dumb and blind of reason! They will not return to journey in the right direction (unless they use their perceptual and conceptual faculties. 8:22, 16:76, 17:36)(sa).
.
📚Why we should study Quran rather than just recite, because GOD commanded us to study Quran, that we ponder and understand HIS command, apply these to our lives (38:29,4:82).
